For being around since 2001, our business has ebbed and flowed plenty over the years. With origins of traveling to events and all that went with that, including packing up heavy bags of kernels and sugar and our 100lb kettles, we always dreamed of having storefront in our community and our popcorn on other retailer's shelves. When we signed our very first year-round lease on a brick and mortar location, Bridgeport Village, those dreams were beginning to take shape and feel not so out of reach.

It's a little-known fact that we actually were part of Bridgeport Village as a seasonal pop-up for about 8 years prior to opening our year-round kiosk in 2016. It was such a significant leap of faith for our family to open that shop at the time, and has been the journey of a lifetime to figure out how to pivot with the ever-changing tide of the economy. We've found ways to make it work and train people to run our little popcorn shop despite it all!

What a journey it has been since then. We used to pop onsite daily, have a team of who would drizzle, sample and sell, all while trying to keep up and bag popcorn to keep the store stocked while it sold all day long. It was truly a wild experience - for those of you who supported us back then, thank you for being part of it!

A look back in time...

Our yes to Bridgeport has opened doors we never thought possible. In 2018, our team decided to enhance our customer service by moving popping offsite. Once the chaos of the popcorn production was moved, we found a new heart for how important it was to connect with our customers!

You are the reason we survived the shutdown of 2020 as our shop was closed for three months. In this time, we launched our wholesale department which was something we had waited years to start. In that same year, we took on a project with the extra time of our shops closed to grow our wholesale department, because we had outgrown our initial "trial" production kitchen. So we did what anyone would do: signed a lease on an old grungy auto shop, paint it black, spruce it up and converted it into a FDA certified kitchen to make popcorn out of!

Our second store was a cute little project as part of that kitchen build-out, and we finally opened the morning of Black Friday in 2020, just a handful of months after we got the keys. To let you in on a secret, we hoped people would come in and shop our popcorn... but we truly did not think we would ever get "busy" retail-wise out of this space. We are blessed to say we stand corrected, and this space has become a staple for many on their stops through Oregon Wine Country, or on roadtrips to the Coast. We have a fully staffed kitchen that works a full production week, and an incredible retail team who is passionate about our customers not only finding a flavor they love but feeling seen every visit. At this point, we are fully operated out of our Newberg Flagship store, with a warehouse and office down the street, and have been blessed with open arms from our local community!

What's next?

In the same way we never thought we could open our first brick and mortar at Bridgeport Village, we could have never dreamed of the response we'd received from launching into the world of wholesale, or opening our shop in Newberg.

Now more than ever, we are allocating energy and effort into our Flagship location out here, so our customers can once again be part of the whole popcorn process.

We are excited to once again make a leap with our incredible team and supporters to continually develop experiences for our popcorn fans, new and old, through hosted events and welcoming retail spaces. Additionally, by offering our handcrafted, small batch popcorn to more communities across the nation, we are getting to extend the invitation into our company's culture of "all kinds of popcorn for all kinds of people"!

So, now what?

Our year-round shop's last day at Bridgeport Village will be Labor Day, Monday, September 2nd 2024!

Until then, we want to celebrate all that this store has been for the legacy of Miss Hannah's over the years, as well as the new things coming, so we will have exclusive in-store deals to bring our community together so we can celebrate! 

It goes without saying, but we remain overwhelmed with gratitude for every purchase made at our shops over the years, including Bridgeport Village. For all of our regulars who have supported us through some of our busiest and even our slowest times of year, thank you. Your confidence in us has been a foundational aspect that has allowed us to dream ourselves into all that is to come. For all of our first-time customers, or those who popped by and found us by accident, thank you. Your enthusiasm, shock, and thrill is a gift to us every single day!

Don't worry, we aren't going anywhere!
